    Ease of Use: Easy

Description: This scroll offers a technical boxing fighter's skill. Despite being seen more as a "sport" in contemporary times, boxing was developed as one of the original hand-to-hand combat systems. Once caught in a skilled boxer's combination of ducks, weaves, and punches, no martial artist can escape.

Price: Free at Level 1 (Complete Tutorial) OR 775 CC

    Usable by all classes.

Boxing’s bread and butter, jelly and peanut butter, pepper and salt. With only two combos, Boxing’s punches are obviously the better of the two and the only one worth using. Get very familiar with this combo as PPPP is literally Boxing’s damage, pressure, and juggle launcher all in one - you’ll literally be using this combo alone for pretty much the entirety of all your matches with the scroll.

It goes without saying that Boxing’s combos, well, are quite good. All the hits are quite fast and pack a pretty good amount of stun for a punch combo, meaning if you so much touch someone with them you’ll immediately force them onto the defensive. The combo also culminates into a juggle launch, so if any of the hits strike from the back, you’ll earn yourself a juggle and the ability to tack on that tasty extra damage.

The special part about Boxing’s punches though, are the unique recovery animations on its first and second punch. These two inputs bob and weave during their recovery, making it incredibly uncertain to your opponent when you’ll start your next attack, if at all. You can start up your combo again, or even delay into the next hit. They can be seen here:

This property makes Boxing’s offensive incredibly confusing and dangerously powerful if utilized correctly. If you find yourself getting blocked a lot, hammer away at their guard. Favor your first punch, stop on different punches, and delay here and there. If that doesn’t work, grab them or even move around and hit them at a different angle. You might even hit them in the back! They can only guard for so long…

Really the only thing you’ll have to worry about when using Boxing’s main combo is being called a spammer by bad, filthy scrubs. Or missing, since that’s always bad. Ha Ha!

    Double Knuckle

As one might expect, Boxing has no real kicks… its “kicks” are actually punches! And they ****.

Boxing offers no real incentive to use its kicks at all, as they’re horribly slow. Boxing’s first kick takes eternities to land and doesn’t have much range, and even if it does hit the second kick might end up missing as well since it’s so slow. As it stands they don’t really serve much of a purpose other than to punish some super egregious mistakes, such as a botched recovery dive or faked AFK. Or actual AFK. It doesn’t really matter since you’re almost always better off using the punches anyway.

You can try and frame-trap someone by hitting with the first kick (since it does pack some neat hitstun), then seeing how they react to it and then grabbing them or punching them in the face/gut right after. As the first kick is so incredibly hard to land in the first place though, don’t expect to turn heads or win matches with this decidedly unviable tactic - only to destroy your opponent’s morale and will to live since they lost to Boxing. Ha Ha!

    Target Juggle
    PPPP P P PPPP - [675]

There really is no reason at all to ever use the kick combo in a juggle; the first kick is so slow it’s going to drop the juggle anyway. Boxing’s punch juggle is very easy though - no delays required, although the closer you are to your opponent the better of a chance the second punch has of connecting. Surprisingly enough, Boxing’s full juggle also does quite a respectable amount of damage - combined with the fact that its juggle is tied into its main pressure and damage combo, this juggle damage adds up frighteningly quickly.

    STRATEGY:

Punch, punch punch! Such is the life of Boxing. Only two combos in its movelist with only one you can really use, getting creative is almost a necessity when using Boxing. Always try to find new ways to pile on the pressure onto your opponent, be it conditioning them to believe you’ll always end on the third punch… then hitting them square in the face with the launcher - or even just walking around nonchalantly and breaking their spinal cord in half with a bunch of punches. And although this might seem obvious, most importantly always try to make sure you hit - Boxing’s recovery on the punches actually aren’t the greatest and it only gets its desired advantage if the punches actually touch the opponent, so missing is a fatal mistake. Being predictable is also a dangerous pitfall to a Boxing user as if you lose the offensive, much of Boxing’s power immediately evaporates. Boxing must gain an advantage and press it in order to win as its defensive game is entirely nonexistent. For ideas on how to utilize Boxing’s punches to pressure, here are a few examples:
