Young Dragon Weapon Upgrading Guide

This has been asked so many times I thought I would make a simple and easy to follow guide on how this works and what you need.

Requirements:

• LS6 for quest (You need to do all quests in Bamboo Village until you receive this)
• Young Dragon Statue received for completing quest
• Jade, Black and True Dragon Statue (2,2,000,000 coins in total)
• To have access to basic clan NPC that sells basic clan skills

Obtaining Young Dragon Statues

1. Once you reach LS6 you will be able to accept a RTE quest titled "Zhang Zhong, Mountain Uprooter".
2. Speak to the NPC called "Tan" in Bamboo Village. (The first NPC you get a quest from)
3. Head to Bandit's Den and kill Mountain Uprooter to complete the quest and turn quest back in to "Tan".

You will receive 3 Young Dragon Statues for completing the quest.

Creating Young Dragon Statue Weapon

1. Head to your clan's basic skill seller, the one that sells basic clan skills and speak to them.
2. Click on the "Resource" button at the bottom.
3. Choose one of the weapons and drag one of your Young Dragon Statues to the window that opens after you select the weapon you want and click "Trade".

You now have a weapon with no requirements and 3 slots.

Upgrading the Weapon to Jade Statue Weapon

1. Speak to the NPC and click "Trade" and purchase a Jade Dragon Statue for 300,000 coins
2. Click on the "Create" button and click on the item name that is yellow
3. Drag your weapon and the Jade Statue into the slots and click "Create"

You will now have a Jade Statue upgrade which has 3 slots as well as 5% maximum damage, 100 phys/ck damage and maximum life increase of 200.


Upgrading the Weapon to Black Dragon Statue Weapon

1. Speak to the NPC and click "Trade" and purchase a Black Dragon Statue for 700,000 coins
2. Click on the "Create" button and click on the item name that is yellow
3. Drag your weapon and the Black Dragon Statue into the slots and click "Create"

You will now have a Black Dragon upgrade which has 3 slots as well as 10% maximum damage, 150 phys/ck damage and maximum life increase of 300.

Upgrading the Weapon to True Dragon Statue Weapon

1. Speak to the NPC and click "Trade" and purchase a True Dragon Statue for 1,200,000 coins
2. Click on the "Create" button and click on the item name that is yellow
3. Drag your weapon and the True Dragon Statue into the slots and click "Create"

You will now have a Black Dragon upgrade which has 3 slots as well as 15% maximum damage, 250 phys/ck damage and maximum life increase of 400.

If you don't wish to buy the statues you will receive them as you complete later chapters of RTD. Hope this helps!

Jade Dragon will not work for gloves in Mt Yanmo

 

Update: Cost of price changed.

 

100%. Never had anyone that had it fail. The refinement also transfers when you upgrade it from Dragon to True Dragon. You can also trade it 30 times.

If you weapon is not refined I think it's 100%, however if you do it on refined weapon the rate is lower (rate decrease when refine level increase)

Hopefully someone will post the various RTD quests that reward you with the statues.
I still need to upgrade mine to True. I'll try to remember to take note of which quest gives me the statue and report back (if someone hasn't already done so by then).

It doesn't break the weapon, it just takes your money and the upgrade item (eg black dragon statue).

 

Refined weapons have a higher chance of failing, they no longer become 100% craft success. Refining these weapons works best on jade first upgrade versions.

Did all of this on my main but i still don't get the quest . Did a new quest and still no quest at Tan

 

This is slightly inaccurate. You only need to reach LS6 to receive the quest. You must do every quest available in Bamboo and where most people go wrong, they don't open up the living tab and complete the collections using the three items given to them when resourcing a physical pill at the clinic.

1. Collect scratch backs
2. Craft a physical pill under resources
3. Check bag for three items
4. Press L to open up living and under the collections add the three items
5. Speak to Clinic npc, click "Collections" and click on the relic to complete quest.

Can someone post the lvl of RTD quests that provide the statues? That will be helpful than mentioning the clan NPC that sells them.

 

The quest begins at LS6 but you must do all the quests in Bamboo village before you can get this. The quest is an RTE not RTD.
