If I were to sell inventory items and use the carat, will that still count towards the spending carat? For example, if I sold a scroll or exo. I’m asking because the instructions explicitly state carat from selling BM chest or carat coupons, but no other inventory items.

 

Y'all really removing the secret key? sighs. I mean, to be fair, I haven't even unlocked my key so it doesn't matter. So then, instead of the Orichalcon Coupon Package (x10), can I get proof of passion instead?

 

Could we get some clarification regarding the 200k Spending Carats requirement?

The post states that Carats already in our possession, Carats earned through Battle/Rumble/Boss Mode, and Carats obtained from reselling Boss Mode Chests or Carat Coupons/Bank Items can be used toward the spending requirement.

Does this mean that Carats obtained by reselling regular items we already own, such as clothing, ExoCores, scrolls, etc., will NOT count toward the 200k Spending Carats requirement when those Carats are spent?

For example, if I start with 50k Carats, resell an old ExoCore for another 50k, and then spend the full 100k, would only the original 50k count toward the spending requirement?

If so, does that mean a player who starts the event with little or no Carats, Carat Coupons, or Boss Mode Chests would essentially have to earn the 200k Carats through gameplay before spending them?

Just want to make sure I understand the requirements correctly before the event. Thanks!

So my feedback regarding this event:

THE GOOD:

• The prizes are all fine. Rare clothes, no timed items, the Tsunami exocore is good
• There is a lot less "repetition", that is to say a lot less of the same items being recolored. The last spenders had this issue with all the WC shirts being basically recolors of each other. I guess the USA and Canada clothes resemble one another, but at least the patterns on them are different as opposed to the WC clothes and football gear in the last spenders, which are mostly one color and kind of boring
• The simplification of tiers (i.e. no more "for every X spent, get Y reward", that's just in each spending tier now) was good

THE NEEDS IMPROVEMENT

• The carat earning requirement is, to be frank, somewhat high. It is doable, but I lucked out by having my Baby Black Dragon from daily logins coincide with the start of the spenders. As well, I had a Jacko Helmet saved up from another event. Neither of these things are replicable for most people (you could have really bad luck and end up with the Baby Black Dragon being a few weeks away for example). Especially because reselling items does not count, it makes earning 35,000 feel tedious and a chore.

SUGGESTIONS

• Lower the carat earning requirement - This would make things less tedious and make it feel less like some people had crappy luck if they didn't get their monthly Baby Black Dragon at the right time for the Spenders
• Add another requirement for playtime while lowering the carat requirement - Some alternatives are requiring a certain amount of daily quests, allowing reselling of coupons up to a percentage of the carats earned, playing a certain number of games. For Daily Quests, it should not require something too high like finishing 14 daily quests for each day of the event as that would have the same tediousness as the carat earning, only even worse because you miss a day, you're screwed over. I think a good daily requirement for the highest tier would be about 5 daily quests for each day of the event in total. People can miss a day or two and do more dailies on another day to make up for it.
• Implement a medal spenders (and add some stuff to the medal shop) - The medal shop is criminally underused. A medal spenders would be nice to give us a chance to spend the medals earned from dailies and boss modes, and the shop could use some more items as well.

Overall I think this event was a good experiment with the new spender method. There is room for improvement but it's a good event.

 

So if I’m participating in the carat spenders, and spend over 200k, but since I’m pretty busy, I don’t think I would be able to gain 35k carats within the time period. Do I still qualify for tier 5 carat spenders prizes?

 

If you do not earn 35,000 Carats in the event period, you will unfortunately not meet the requirements for T5 Carat spenders and will not get the prize

No one has mentioned this publicly, but I would like to take a moment to give a round of applause to @Starberry and the rest of the CM/GM team for not putting any timed items in this spenders event. There's a night and day difference between having no timed items at all, and having timed items in the lower tiers.

Having oris and boxes instead of timed items in the lower tiers helps the whole target audience of players. Instead of having something that is guaranteed to expire within X days, we get ori and a box, which gives us a chance to get something perm.

I also like how in this spenders, it has

• a variety of items to be offered so that if players are not interested in sports themed stuff, there are other rewards with diff themed that are offered.
• some misc items like boxes/enchant card, etc. This is a really smart move because people who dont like other themed stuff being offered can at least have these items.

 

I am sorry for the late response. The ruling was corrected to allow all resellable items counted towards the spending carat requirement.

Unfortunately, there won't be alternative choices. However, we intend to make Proof of Passion more accessible in the future.

• All items resold in inventory will be counted towards the spending requirement. The earlier wording was a mistake.
• Yes, if the player has nothing to resell then they would essentially have to earn all 200k carats during the event period.

It would be best to save up your acquired carats.

 

• After feedback from our previous spenders, no timed items were added into this spender.
• As mentioned before, we will review the data once the spenders event concludes on the earning carats requirement and will make adjustments based on that data.

In regards to your suggestions:

• Yes, we will review the carats earned requirement as I note above.
• Adding a playtime requirement while reducing the carats requirement is possible, but it won't be lowered by much. In some cases this may actually make it more difficult/tedious to the player since I know some players have already finished the 35k earned within the first 72 hours of the event.
  • Daily Quest completion may also be a good alternative. I agree that if such requirement is included, forcing the player log in every day is quite painful to the player.
  • However, I think the better idea is to adjust the carats earned requirement accordingly since the mentioned alternatives lean the spenders event towards more of a traditional playtime event with a carats spending requirement and takes away of the idea of the "Spenders" theme a little bit.
  • Jacko Helmet 2 will be more accessible through <Bounty Board - Boss of the Week> and/or other events in the near future.
• Medal Spenders I do not think will happen. Based on what I can see, many players use their medals for the Machine Gun pouch item, which was why we made it more accessible through events such as Happy Hour since it's very easy to run out of them being usable in games 3 times per round. It's a very niche idea, and I think the better idea would be to revamp the Medal Shop to include items that are useful in Boss Mode as a whole.

You can expect similar design for the spenders event going forward.

If we do add timed items, they will always be in Tier 1, and the requirements to acquire them will be low.

As for your previous question,

I am sorry, but the Box B2G1/BOGO will actually not be returning for the foreseeable future after internal discussion on the matter.

This may change in accordance to future plans, but at this time I can say with confidence that it won't be back.

In regards to the medal shop, would it be possible to get cosmetic versions of rares? No stats at all, just for appearances.

And anything possibly for Android? They have like 4 item sets in stores, and 2 of them are recolors of one another.

 

If you have anything in mind,, I can take it into consideration. However, nothing will be guaranteed.

Android... I for myself agree that it needs more support. I am aiming to improve class identities in the future.

 

The Hercules Set (particularly the gloves, scarred chest, and Head of Nemean lion) is something I've always liked the appearance of, but is obviously unattainable. Even without the stats, it would be really nice to have that just as a cosmetic option (no stats).

The Metatron sets (Blue Dragon, Vermillion Phoenix, Black Tortoise, White Tiger) also look pretty cool and a cosmetic version with 0 stats would be nice especially since we can put accessories in the avatar.
