THIS IS ENTIRELY MY OPINION AND I WILL CHANGE ANY IF NEEDED. PLEASE ENJOY K = kick P=punch G= gaurd FIRST let’s get invulnerable frames and plus/minus/neutral frames out the way. Invulnerable frames: frames that a scroll can use to get priority over other scrolls(wicked flare KG) Plus frames: usually in frame data, plus frames are moves that can be used on block, then can attack again freely after without being punished.(redleg KK, wicked flare KG, Bajiquan RE K K+G P) REMINDER: in this game, if you’re jab is fast enough, it can clash after SOME plus frames. Neutral Frames: scrolls that can use a move on block, but you can save yourself by jabbing, countering, etc. Neutral frames are all about mixup(shoot boxing KK, Hitman KP). YOU CAN BE INTERRUPTED IN NEUTRAL FRAMES. It’s about knowing your opponent. Minus frames: typically these are the last hit of combos. Easy frames to punish with mag grabs, combos, and rams/slides. Now that we are done with the basic fighting game nerd stuff, we can get to the scrolls. 1st: shootboxing ||THE POSTER BOY OF THE GAME|| Best kick combo in the game period. The hitbox can catch you from behind, and it has far knock back. SHORT SND SIMPLE Shoot Boxing is annoying because KK is NEUTRAL on block. You can interrupt it, buts it’s a risky play. The PP of the scroll is negative, but it has enough delay inbetween the 2nd and 3rd punch to continue the combo. being pressured by shoot boxing on edge is a veryyyyyy sticky situation. Juggle launcher is by far one of the easiest to execute. Easiest drop juggles in the game(SEIJU RF for more on that) good damage, and heavy edge carry. (Not to mention default grab is one of the best in the game) 2 easy advances, 1 hard. Namu has AMAZING burst damage. Short and simple gets the job done. Easy namu mixups(stopping your namu midway and mixing with punches or kicks). Shoot Boxing has one of the best and most namu mixups for how short the namu is. Shoot Boxing can be used on ANY map and preform well. Did I mention that this scroll has an unblockable move? 2nd: Mauy Boran A lot like shootboxing, this scroll has SO much hitbox on its kicks. Mauy Boran also has a VERY easy juggle launcher, and it’s VERY easy to drop with. Mauy Boran is very good mixup with its punches. ALSO like shoot boxing, after its 3rd punch, it’s negative, but it has enough time to delay the next hit(WHICH IS A FENCE EDGER). Mauy Boran’s kicks also have a bunch of neutral hits(pretty sure all of them except 2nd to last and last). The 2nd to last kick also has the negative, but can be delayed strat. It’s very risky to use the last kick, but it moves so much that you can miss it on purpose to bait, and get a free punish. Boran’s K K+G is one of the best 2 hits in the game also. It can draw a panic out you, and your panic can be punished because of the knockback of the K K+G. It’s very fast and hard to panic. Boran’s >>G is one of the quickest and best >>G in the game. It has very far knockback. Its normal grab knockback is very far too. Boran’s KG is VERRYYYY negative on block, but it has invulnerable frames and it’s also a juggle launcher you can BU with. Boran is a steamroll scroll. You get into your opponents head and you rock out. PS: Boran’s counter is a hard knockdown, free mixup at will. Boran is good on ANY map. 3rd: White Fang White fang is probably the most cheesiest scroll on this list. White Fang combos are long, but very confusing. I WILL say the punches are mid, but the rest of the scroll makes up for it. White fang has the EASIEST edger in the game. It’s KP is NEUTRALLLLL on block, so they can jab after it and be fine. White fang’s 2nd kick is neutral on block. Most people start another kick combo after KK cause it’s very spammable. It’s not plus, just very cheesy. While fang also has a simple juggle launcher that travels coast to coast(very far distance). Mind you if someone lands a full kick juggle on you, the scroll CAN advance after it(wall only). White fangs KPP is very cheesy(can be advanced namu’d, wall only). It can be air paniced, but the momentum from its 3rd hit makes it superrrr hard to recover. White Fang excels in defensive opponents. The last P in KKKP can be angled, but it’s very punishable. The angle can be delayed, but it’s all about mixup. High risk, high reward KKKP. White Fang’s >>G is a lot like Boran’s KG. VERY punishable but it’s very rewarding. The KG on white fang is also high risk, high reward. Its knockback is about Boran >>G range. If you whif(miss) this move you can cancel the animation and namu to save yourself. 1 easy advance namu, 1 intermediate, and 2 hard. White fang has been one of the best scrolls since release. It can be used on any map and excel. 4th: Sanda/Sanshou Sanshou isn’t as easy as the above 3, it has very strong combos. Sanshou is one of the scrolls that takes a LOT of predictability. Sanshou’s kick combo is all negative on block. But it rewards delaying combos. Sanshou’s punches are decent also. Sanshou’s biggest struggle is hitting angles. It’s a very linear scroll. All of Sanshou’s combos have very good knock back, and even juggle combos have good knock back. Sanshou and Hitman are the most honest scroll in the game. It has the simplicity of Hitman but the reach of white fang. I BELIEVE the KG K is negative on block, but it pushes your opponent back to the point where you can do another KG K! People don’t use this strat enough. It’s very good. The scroll excels in pressuring and grabbing. It has a good back grab but an even better front grab. It has a good damage, and a long namu for good p breaks. Sanshou is simple but excels mostly on btop and glacier. It doesn’t have a reliant edge fencer. 5th: Shaolin Tiger Last but not leasttttt, Shaolin Tiger. Shaolin Tiger’s kick are very lackluster. But the punches is where this scroll shines. It’s legit the opposite of Sanshou. Instead of having long kicks, its punches are its strong point. Unlike Sanshou tho Tiger’s PP, and PPPP are neutral on block. Both of those also make up an advance juggle for Tiger. Tigers last hit on the punches can be angled BOTH ways. They will connect. You can use the last punch on block with an angle to get away of a lot of situations. It’s a strong tool. Tiger’s kicks are alright. KKPP is strong for mix ups, but KKP is very negative on block. Can be challenged at all times. But it’s good if you know your opponent will unblock so you can use the last kick. Tiger’s kk can reset the 3 hit punch rule off drops. It’s very strong for areas where you can’t drop because the jump kick won’t come out. Tiger can also reset the 3 hit rule with its last punch. It’s very good for drop juggling for short distance. Tiger’s damage is irregular too. This was found out on release from the btop community. The damage of Tiger’s is VERY strong. One combo can take a quarter of health away. Tiger is very good. Tiger doesn’t have a reliable edger but its damage carries that. It’s good on all maps, but it’s banned in btop ft9. I would replace 4 and 5. They are interchangeable. Honorable mention are also very good scrolls, just flawed.
Boxing is 1 top scroll in rumble fighter. No one scrolls can beat it, only Sage Master can. In OGP, my old guildmate proved me he been 9-0ed all of them in 1v1 and even top 1v1er as well. Street is barely beat against boxing but can beat Default easy. its 2nd top scroll. You cannot change my mind. Shrugs.
Shoot Boxing Developer in 2009 making the greatest scroll in the history of the game. Me personally I've been a Combat Sambo enjoyer since it came out due to its really good potential on Moonlight. Same with Pro Wrestling and Judo, I love you 360° grab scrolls never stop. (Please buff Combat Sambo and Guem punch string combos as they're very bad)
Omni grab scrolls will always have a special place in my heart. If Sambo had better punches i would have shot it up to top 10. That scroll has so much SAUCE.
If you ever blow money on this game get Combat Sambo RE. It's what it should have been in a hypothetical random scroll update.
To touch up on Tiger with its damage, the full punch combo Advanced Nanmu can DRAIN HP very quickly and you don't even need a wall like some of the other advs in the scroll
