After so many years playing 9Dragons, it’s time to be honest. In this video, I share the harsh reality of the game in 2025 — the broken economy, pay-to-win system, toxic PvP, and the lack of support from RedFox. I’ve always loved 9Dragons. But today, it’s no longer the same game we once enjoyed. If you're thinking about returning or starting now, this review is for you. Do you agree? Disagree? Share your thoughts in the comments.
I just got back to the game, like a week + ago. My gear is not just obsolete, obsolete would be good. Luckyli i still have gold in my storage, but the prices are insane. My "i am so proud of" KL epi is not even worth mentioning. But the amount of relics and gear confuse me. I have no idea where to lvl up, what relics to use. What drops to pick. But compared to 2019 when i played last, drops are better. In 2019 droping stuff in KL was a huge event, now kl drops are worthless. You do need to remember that this is a game that started in 2005 and, at least graphic wise, it is not competitive to games released in the last 5 years. This game is mostly for nostalgia. The economy was always broken, but now it is even more so due to a smaller player base. Auto farmers and bots are nothing new. This game is not the only one plagued by it. But surprisingly, i am not bothered by them. I just ignore them and just have fun on my own. Also, this is one of the few remaining games out there that do not FORCE you to party for content, so you have no dg gatekeeping. I dont know how long i will play this time, but i will enjoy it, and hope when nostalgia hit me next time, the game will be here.
I relate to that feeling you have... I also play for the nostalgia, the story, and all the great moments I've lived since the Acclaim days. But what really bothers me nowadays is the lack of commitment from RedFox. They ignore tickets sent by the community, don’t interact with their players, keep repeating the same boring events, and leave many bugs unresolved, among other issues. I also hope the game always survives, but I really wish it received more attention from RedFox.
I run all over the maps , memories keep coming back to me when people camping for bosses in maps, enjoying PL and when you go in every town of the maps there always people camping. But now, its like ghost town i wonder where the people go now . :-( can we just make a classic 9D
Sab but true! We need one active VGM, like Acclaim time. Events free with good content, all event need dispend many time or many money, balance pvp, game is not FPS, but like die with one hit. We love game!
Just check the screen shots i have attacked i have begged to stop killing me but i am getting killed no reason they don't fear even reporting pathetic state of 9 Dragons is in now and getting killed more than 6 times that player even searching for me and killing me every where i wish i have not came back and spent real money to get gear https://postimg.cc/gallery/XnvmQhW
Even private servers can get more players than Redfox, because They don't care mainly about money, like this garbage company. They could have 3 or 4 servers full by doing things correctly, but the greed is superior than intelect.
The best thing redfox can do is giving 9dragons to a serious company. What They did to the game, even the VN version couldn't. I would reset whole game with cap on im1, ending in tibet/LL, with events in other maps for limited time. 9dragons ended in icy and They don't know what to do after. They just create a map with low quality, same mob models and scale the level/hp/damage. So They release other skills and items to keep the pay2win active. Everything with bad desire of doing a good work. And when We say some real things, They silent us, proving They're all hypocrites.
Coming back to this MMO feels like Geoemtry dash game reconnecting with an old friend. It may be outdated, the economy may be messy, and my gear might be useless, but none of that takes away the fun of simply playing. At its core, the game is about nostalgia, personal enjoyment, and the freedom to play without restrictions. And sometimes, that’s all we really need. I used to spend a lot of time in 9Dragons and reading this thread feels so familiar. The game really lost that old atmosphere when even a random drop or meeting someone in a map felt like a big moment. Now it feels more like a museum of memories. It is nice to visit but hard to stay for long. The broken economy, pay to win cycle and lack of care from the admins only make it worse. These days I mostly play Baldur’s Gate 3, Path of Exile and sometimes Skyrim with mods. And yeah, sometimes I also mess around with some gambling games just for fun. At least those communities never die, there’s always someone to talk to, and on the other hand there are tons of themed sites out there. If you’re interested, you can read more to check out one of them. Still, 9Dragons will always be a part of my gaming past and maybe that is why we all come back from time to time, chasing that same nostalgia.
I always have the eager to play this game I remember the days of acclaims ,red fox should make it like wow mounthly subscribtion while the only thing we buy in real money is pets and cosimics for weapons and sets that doesn’t make player stronger in this way the game will be insane and still company make lots of money I wish some1 take this game lately with this idea
An unknown witness, saw how many times you've been killed, and thought: "another soul pleading for mercy, hoping someone, anyone, would answer. There was a time… when someone always did. They used to speak his name quietly, as if saying it too loudly would summon him—or worse, reveal that he was already watching. Some called him a myth. Others, a curse upon tyrants. To a few… a savior. DarkAlan. Strange how a name can carry both comfort and fear But that was years ago. Now the roads are empty of him. The strong grow bolder. The cruel, louder. They no longer glance over their shoulders before striking. Whatever fear once kept them in check… has faded. They just grief the weaker endlessly The hero who used to fight and save people like tssrreddy, is now gone, forever, after the War of 9Dragons And yet… Sometimes, when the night is still, and the air feels heavy with something unseen… I wonder. If he’s still out there. Watching. Waiting. Or if even he… finally chose to let the world fend for itself"
Then you might aswell play 9D classic Peak 9D was the GamesCampus times, where HG was cap, there's nothing wrong with leveling up to Heaven's Gates, but the damage change was too crazy The old PvP system with lower damages and lower HP was better
