NOTICE Security Notice: Scam Email Regarding Crypto Payments

Hi, thanks for bringing awareness to this.

The more concerning question I have when i first saw this is - How did they get our player's email addresses? Was there a possible data breach in RedFox that led to this? Is our data like our credit cards/etc that we use to buy RC safe? Should we change our passwords? Should we be worried about our rf accounts/rf data?

Please give us guidance on players who've gotten sent this fraudulent email on what to do next in order to protect ourselves.

So how did a "random scammer" get all of our email addresses to be able to send that out when only the people working there should have access to this..?
I'm almost sure there's no way for us to look up another players email through forums or any other way so how exactly did our personal/private information become public?.
And how come when making this post you didn't address HOW they got our emails?. You just told people that it was sent out and is a scam..

Shouldn't y'all be telling players if your "security" measures are worthless and all of our sensitive information is possibly being skimmed through your platform?.

You guys realize any rational person could file a case against y'all for this and they wouldn't be wrong for doing so..

Dude you can't be this dumb ,lol, phishing scams and things like this happen on a daily if theres no proof of having a data breach you can't rlly do anything about it. Let alone sue them. Redfox is most def laughing at this paragraph.

You can't be this brain dead you don't know how to click "reply" and respond properly with your irrelevant comment.. If only you people had a functioning mindset that wasn't riddled with idiocy.. :/

Anyways you get another attempt next time you on.. I'll allow it..

Edit - Altho I would like to know how you people made it this far in life lacking basic common sense..?

You’re missing the point. You’re mixing up a vague spam email like "Your Netflix account is locked" with a focused spear-phishing attack.

These scammers didn’t randomly select a big list of email addresses thinking they all played Rumble Fighter. They targeted a specific list of our player base.

This suggests there was a leak. Whether someone leaked the forum database, which often happens due to weaknesses in forum software, compromised a third-party mailing list service RedFox uses, or someone with backend access pulled the user table, our emails were taken and sold.

Those asking how the scammers obtained our info are asking the right questions. The reason RedFox isn’t responding is due to standard Incident Response procedures. Their security team is likely working hard to find where the breach happened, while PR is trying to manage things by warning people not to click the link. A company won’t publicly admit to a data breach until they finish a complete investigation and know exactly what was taken.

Until they determine if this was merely an email list scrape or a more serious breach involving password hashes and billing tokens, do yourselves a favor: assume the worst. Change your passwords, especially if you use the same ones on different sites. This isn’t just random phishing when the scammers know exactly what game you play and what bait to use.

i mean all you people are braindead for even playing this game in the big 26, but go off i guess

You all have alot to learn about what scamming and phishing is because clearly you don't know what these are...let me quote some information ,
Yes, phishing emails are extremely common in the gaming industry, frequently targeting players to steal account credentials, payment information, and rare virtual items. Scammers impersonate popular platforms like Steam, Riot Games, and EA with fake, urgent alerts about compromised accounts or fake giveaways.

Common Gaming Phishing Tactics:
Fake Account Alerts: Emails claiming your account is locked, requiring you to click a link to verify credentials.
Too-Good-To-Be-True Offers: Promises of free in-game currency, beta access, or rare skins to trick you into entering login details.
Fake Customer Support: Messages posing as game admins or developers seeking account information.
Fake Trade/Selling Inquiries: Scammers posing as buyers on platforms like Discord or Steam, aiming to phish login info or use fraudulent payment methods.

How to Protect Yourself:
Verify the Sender: Check the actual email address, not just the display name. Official companies usually don't send sensitive requests via private messages.
Never Click Links: Go directly to the official website or game launcher instead of clicking links in emails.
Enable 2FA: Always use two-factor authentication on gaming accounts.
Check URLs: Look for misspellings or weird characters in the website, this happens on a daily basis for almost every game in the industry ,maybe stop acting as if redfox is the only one with these issues.
