Fourth entry to SamuraiWay's RF Diary Some time in summer, 2008. RF turned one! Amazing! It was an extravagant time honestly; we got our first carat scroll since the release of RF - Drunken Master. ALL new scrolls since Shaolin have been astros, so it was a relief to finally have a carat sink. This update brought the first ever double skill item update - we also got devil shadow which totally ruined the game. Everybody and their mother tried to get on the game, causing the servers to not hold up. I actually still have an image that displayed my frustration from the anniversary update: Yeah the background was the old RF forums. With my exposure to the RF OGP forums, I began developing my own identity. I took on the alias "Isaac". Tha's what I would tell people my name was. At this time I was high enamored with forums and getting involved with communities. RF forums would actually be the second community I get involved in as the Nsider forums was my home until it shut down. However, after some time on the OGP forums... I found a new community! Moonlight valley! Not the stage, but a website that doubled as an RF item database and a community. It boasted two awesome features; a trading section with a rating/reliability system and a guild function (before guilds were released in RF). I loved that place. I joined the community, but my young self was too stupid to see that some people did not quite enjoy the annoying, bratty, and upbeat attitude I had. But I'd soon outgrow it. I wanted to so bad be part of this communith that I volunteered to join the mod team as the moderator of the trade section. And I was accepted! Not like it mattered much at that time, the community was still really small. The database portion of the website began falling behind, and eventually stopped being updated. You see, the owners of the site were all busy college adults and whatever. I, on the other hand, was just a high school student with tons of time. I volunteered to update the database! Mosley, the leader of MLV.com, granted me admin status to update the database. I went to work asap and brought that bad boy up to speed. I really felt like I had a new home here. With my new friends, my old friendships started to suffer. Having intereactedwith these "more mature" people (i suppose you can say that) I found the whole RAWR xD type of people unbearable, which a lot of my friends in RF were pre-forum. There's this one girl I was friends with - I forgot her name - but I slowly began feeling as if the friendship was breaking and I couldn't stand her. I deleted her, but that did not matter as she eventually got banned anyway. We reunited down the line, but it wasn't a happy reunion. More on that later, though. At this time, I was enjoying my time with people that frequented MLV.com, including ShoeShoe, Mosley, Federader(forgot his name, dang), McGerkey (the glacier cave guy, Gnat, Grog, Keitsu, Llami, StriderLJM, and there are others that I forgot.
