For transparency, [CM]Fang posted this in the rf discord Edit: This image have been updated with the latest update of replacing all "Skill Book Expansion Kit" with "Cold Blood (7D)".
So far this is better than the January one. The Orichalcon coupons are a very good and welcome prize. Carat coupons as well, gems are good, premium gemstone generators good, the boxes are fine, enchant cards are all good. Not a fan of the machine guns or temporary scrolls, and the times are kind of inconvenient, but this is a pretty decent event. I'd say like a 7.5/10 tentatively for now.
Way to tease us by giving out Permanent Drunken Master RE and then turning it into 7 days lol. Guess the goal really is to prevent too many people getting permanent stuff, it explains so much lol. Does RedFox have the stones to at least deny or admit that is one of their goals instead of hiding behind the forum and not responding?
hmm tbh I think this is just a mistake on their end and they just corrected it, so It probably doesn't have any intentional implications. But i think we can both agree that they should have replaced the timed scrolls with something else more useful, even with the oris that would be good, since we have that daily play for 1h and get a scroll for 24h event. I was checking gem fighter and they seem to have this same happy hour event. I think what is happening is, we're providing feedback on not wanting the timed scrolls due, but gem fighter doesnt have any event that allows them to try out the scrolls, so the devs just chucked the scrolls in still, b/c they also want gem fighter ppl to try the scroll so they'd be more willing to buy boxes to get the scroll perm if they like it. (the prizes for this happy hour is the same for gem fighter and rf). Not saying i agree with their decision, but would be great if we could not have those timed scrolls in happy hour for us rumble fighter
Hi everyone, for transparency, I'm putting some important updates here that was said in the rf discord, in case the original post forgot to include them! Friday June 5th , 2026 3:54 AM EST: Friday June 5th,2026 4:38 PM EST:
Are you guys also going to make an event where you respond to tickets? I have like 2 you have not responded to and I sent follow-ups multiple times.
While not having these boxes that normally provide permanent items appear to be disappointing, rather than making it appealing for only certain days of the event - where players will be left disappointed if it is on a day that they cannot be logged in. This was something that we have addressed in the latest rendition of the event and allows a player to be much more flexible. This is relayed as if we intentionally distributed the reward permanently, which isn't the case. KR also experienced the permanent Drunken Master RE issue - that issue is not exclusive to us. (Source) The current Happy Hour event was made by me, and was implemented for both RFNA & KR. This event has always rewarded temporary skill items and the idea behind them is for a player to utilize and try out the newer skill items that have released over the years, that are not accessible otherwise unless the random item box is opened for a chance to acquire one. As for Machine Guns, this is the most popular pouch item used by many players in-game - even more popular than Panic Attack +1. Due to it's popularity and limited supply of acquisition due to needing Boss Mode "medals" to acquire 30/60/90 uses of this item, we have made it more accessible to players so that they can utilize this item more freely. If you look at the Happy Hour event more closely, you will see that we've carefully made it in this iteration so that a player has another scroll(s) to use every few days, allowing for even a new player that hasn't acquired their first scroll to take advantage of this to make their first steps of gameplay easier. Since the beginner system does not provide a player a free, permanent Scroll/ExoCore until LV9 & LV11 respectively, this event helps in that regard. The Happy Hour event is also cleverly timed with the ongoing Mystic Power Hour, granting players an easier time getting started on Rumble Fighter better than ever before. When you think of any of our event offerings, You say that we are preventing players from acquiring permanent items, but we've also introduced events these past couple of months to players that reward plentiful amounts of Orichalcon, Carats & RC. Based on the data from our final Fisticuffs, with approximately 50 players that were rewarded, with items valued at between 200-1000 RC per week for most players (some opted for Carats/Medals/Misc. Items), here is the breakdown of how our Rivalry Rumble event compares based on the current month's iteration: 3,000 to 1st Place 2,500 to 2nd Place 2,000 to 3rd Place 1,000 to remaining Top 30 [aka 27 players] (27,000 RC, plus 1,350,000 Carats in total pool) - Plus the flexibility to play as much as you want during the month to be eligible for a part of the prize pool. Based on the Rivalry Rumble offerings, they are comparable to the Fisticuffs event on it's own. In addition to the other new features that we have added this year, such as the upgraded attendance check-in event and short-lived Sunday Showdown event - I would say that we've been much generous with the reward options that are more suitable for other players, not just the well established ones. There is no doubt to me that there are reasons why you and other players may find that the events are not of interest, but having a pessimistic attitude thinking that we are "preventing" players from acquiring permanent items, when RC allows for the flexibility of choosing what a player can do with it, as well as purchasing rewards that we otherwise could not have given out (such as Avalon Driver) is where we must draw a line. As for the tickets, please provide me (or a CA) the ticket number if you'd like and I will look into this for you. Thank you @Dittoo for the updates as well.
You'd have to play 250 teams modes games, and you'd have to be in the top 30. Assuming a teams mode takes maybe 8 minutes (3 minute rounds + loading + final score screen), 8*250 is about 2000 minutes. Sometimes loading may take longer, but sometimes people can end the round very quickly, so I think 8 minutes is pretty fair. That's 33 hours of gameplay. 33 hours of gameplay for 1000 ingame currency (which is about $10) is, well, not very much. Even if we say every teams game is 6 minutes, that's a total of 1500 minutes and 25 hours. For the record someone could work an hour or two IRL and make more money than that. Now to be fair, it is a reward given for just playing the game (and not working) but there are a lot of issues with asking people to spend 33 hours in a month in teams mode: One, Rumble Fighter is extremely crash prone, and crashing means you got to play again. That's starting the client again which loads rather slowly and waiting for another room to be open. Two, Teams requires a certain number of people to play, if you work odd hours or are not in NA, it's a lot harder to play 250 games of teams in a month because you won't be on when many other people are on. Three, many, many people don't like teams because there is a huge amount of toxicity from teammates in teams. Now this toxicity is NOT RedFox/Nimonix's fault, but when you report someone for toxicity in teams and no response happens for WEEKS, it really gives the impression there is nothing being fixed. Teams is a gamemode of extreme toxicity and putting THAT as the gamemode to win Rivalry Rumble basically means you're likely getting 33 hours of mostly unpleasant and extremely toxic gameplay, which is not good. The Ori shards are a good change, and I admit that is a very good thing to add. It's why I like this a lot more than the January one (which was rather mediocre in my view). As for your other events, most of the rewards require a ton of gameplay time investment (Rivalry), and even Sunday Showdown required people to be on at a certain time. And not to mention Sunday Showdown gives FAR less rewards than Fisticuffs did. Sunday Showdown is a REDUCTION in the number of people winning prizes compared to Fisticuffs. Boss mode medals are dirt easy to acquire, given you get medals every now and then from daily logins, as well as doing daily quests. Moreover, while the machine gun is an OK item, it isn't really something stellar. It's kind of meh to be honest, I don't mind it, but it's about as good as a 7 day scroll. More like to get people to try a scroll and then get them to buy lootboxes, which by the way are illegal in some countries, at least with Rumble Fighter's current iteration of lootboxes. They're not "bad" items per se, they're just mediocre. The ticket numbers are #149231 and #149204. They were created in April and I've updated them numerous times, and I have not received a single response. Furthermore, both reports are of toxicity in TEAMS mode, which is exactly what I was explaining is the issue with teams mode being Rivalry Rumble's requirement- that teams is a mode filled with toxicity.
Hi, thanks for the detailed clarification and response. For the most part, i agree, but i would like to voice my feedback for some of these things mentioned. Seems like the intention of adding the timed scrolls is to help with newer/returning players and giving them a chance to try out these new scrolls. I like the intention but I believe there is a more effective way to satisfy both the newer/returning players AND casual players, while resolving the issues you mentioned above. We already have a "1 hour playtime event" whereby we get one of these new scrolls to try out for 1 day after playing for 1 hour. Imo, this serves the same purpose as providing the timed scrolls in the happy hour event, and to me this doesn't make much sense, as it takes up space in the happy hour time slot, where other, more impactful items could be given out. If the current 1 hour playtime event of giving out scrolls does not currently satisfy the problems that you are trying to tackle, then consider the following proposed modifications: If the issue of the current 1 hour playtime event of giving out scrolls is "theyre only 1 day scrolls, thats not long enough for players to try out", then you could Make the scrolls be 3 days, like it was before, and not 1 day. If the issue of the current 1 hour playtime event of giving out scrolls is "needing to play for 1h is too long", then you could decrease the time needed to 30 minutes instead of 60min If the issue of the current 1h playtime event of giving out scrolls is "we want the player to have the scroll before playing, and have them try out the scroll as they first begin playing rf on that day" then you could just make the event give players the scroll upon login. With these modifications, it will serve the same purpose as giving the timed scrolls in happy hour, therefore we can actually replace those with more impactful items that can benefit everyone, such as: Possibly more orichalcon coupons more boxes more utility like enchant cards, avalon stuff carats A total of 28 slots (i think) have been taken up by timed scrolls in this HH. If we shifted giving the timed scrolls to the playtime event and replaced these 28 slots with items like the above ones, this would make the event have a bigger positive impact to both new/returning and casual players. Listing out the events hosted from these past couple of months, and their pros and cons: Rivalry Rumble Pros: Great RC rewards for the top 3 most competitive players. Great rewards for players that plays alot and plays 250+games to get that 1k rc, 50k carats, etc. Cons: 250 games too much time commitment. therefore not many people will be able to reach that, compared to fisticuffs where if people were free that time, they can compete and have a chance at getting the reward and not needing to spend massive time commitment Solution: Give a "base particiaption reward" where it rewards players with lesser games played as the "Base" participation prize. (elaborated here - https://forums.playredfox.com/index.php?threads/may-rivalry-rumble-s2-ranked.59767/#post-530896) Revamped Attendance event - overall great event, no complaints. Sunday Showdown Pros: top 3 competitive players get RC rewards Cons: I think we are both thinking the same thing about this event. Moving the RC rewards to only top 3 makes casual/f2p players /people with not alot of time commitment basically are guaranteed to get the participation prize (which is good), but will never be able to achieve top 3. Solution: Having the multiple prized tiered structure that @ProfessorZtar recommended, here (https://forums.playredfox.com/index.php?threads/sunday-showdown-discussion-thread.59639/#post-530336 and https://forums.playredfox.com/index.php?threads/sunday-showdown-discussion-thread.59639/#post-530666) And for a casual/f2p players that do not have alot of time commitment for games, unfortunately the cons of the the Rumble Rivary and Sunday showdown event outweighs the pros. The ending of Fisticuffs and introduction of these rewards has essentially shifted the "target audience" of players receiving the rewards - whereby when fisticuffs was active, it rewarded both players that dont have alot of time AND those competitive players who play a ton of games. But with the introduction of these events, it seems to be only rewarding players who are most competitive, and have tons of time to play the game, leaving people who dont have alot of time to unfortunately feel as if they are "gatekept" and "prevented" from acquiring permanent items. And if i were to guess, @DonkeyPuncher probably falls into this category of players who dont have alot of time to play, therefore expressing his frustration that he (among others in the same target audience of players) feels as if they are being "prevented" from getting permanent items.
Yes that is one of the issues, but another issue is that teams has a lot of toxicity, mostly from teammates who seem to be angry that you didn't "save" them. 250 games of singles? It'd be a lot, but I like singles quite a lot. I could probably do it if I really tried at it. 250 games of teams? Teams is so toxic I would not do it for 1,000 RC + 50,000 carats. I only did it the first time around for proofs of passion since those are not attainable normally. And I will give credit where it is due, the login dailies are a lot better now. 40k carats a month and some rare boxes, as well as premium gemstone generators are very nice to have.
Oh yea one more thing, Tbh this replacement item doesn't really make much sense. If anything, the skill book expansion kit should be replaced with a similar avalon item, ie the Gemstone discard kit, or premium gemstone generator. Cold blood is already available in medal shop, so theres no reason why it should be given out here, if the intention is to let players try it out.
Cold Blood is not even a rare. It's an in-store item. A 7 day version of a scroll from the store feels a lot worse than a 7 day rare. Like heck, at least make it like 30 days. I also do not know why there are 2 Cold Blood days. I mean was that the only in-store scroll they wanted people to try out? Are there really no others? They could not do Cold Blood for one day and another scroll for another day?
Either bring back the ability to test the scrolls out for free in training mode or release all available/current scrolls in the medal shop for people to rent.
We've discussed internally regarding the possibility of single matches being count for Rivalry Rumble. However, enabling Single mode matchups also poses to several risks of fraud and unfair gameplay tactics. This is a reason why we decided not to utilize 1vs1 rankings for S3 Rivalry Rumble. Team based battles being "toxicity" is quite subjective - but we'll be reaching out to the developer in order to make team based battles less daunting (assuming this is stats & ExoCores related). If we do plan on enabling Single mode matchup for eligibility, the reward pool will most likely be weakened due to the possibility of abuse. Abuse in a singles matchup scenario has been abused time and time again, which played a large role in why the 500RC reward from Fisticuffs was originally removed. The reward was then added back then after some discussion with the team, with a heavy caveat to limit this privilege to one room, and would only be chosen by the Fisticuffs moderator at the time. We understand your concern in regards to the overall theme of events have been directed towards more gameplay investment. Unfortunately, not every event caters to every player - but we are taking efforts into incorporating events for casual players as well - such as Happy Hour. Boss Mode medals are something that isn't as accessible to players as some may think. The majority of players participating in Boss Mode are the Event/Limited Time Return stages, which provide no medals. We have tested internally that the average player will not be able to sustain the purchase of "Machine Gun" even with the Daily Quest Boxes. The popularity and high usage of this item made us realize that this will be a great opportunity to help supply them so that more players can utilize this item. The average player consumes all 90 Machine Gun items after purchase within an average of 15-20 games, as this item can be used 3 times per each round. This is approximately 2-3 hours of gameplay to most players. As stated before, the ability for players to utilize a skill item is not to entice them to buy lootboxes in an attempt to acquire the skill item. It helps serve as a bridge while the player has saved enough to purchase skill items on their own. Many years ago, as someone who has played Rumble Fighter during OGP - you often barely saved enough carats to buy "Street", "Jujitsu" or "Shidokan". We have made massive improvements with newer, less skilled players in mind and providing temporary skill items is just another way of how we are able to deliver this improved start to the player. As for your tickets, I did not inform you previously - but they should've been answered already. We do not wish to provide every player with the temporary skill items via logging in. By implementing them in Happy Hour and Playtime, the target of helping the player with them to give them an easier time during gameplay will be more accurate. If we gave the skill item upon logging in, a player could log in every single day for an entire year and have a large surplus supply which goes completely against the intended idea of temporary support. This idea is already being abused from other similar ongoing/past events of similar fashion. As for Rivalry Rumble, I have discussed to decrease the 250 games threshold. However, as of this time these discussions are not finalized. From what I see, we aren't "limiting" the amount of permanent items (or equivalent value), but more targeting them towards players who are actively playing. This will be disappointing to hear for casual players, but also we are always trying to incorporate events that even casual players can enjoy - even if time commitment is a limiting factor for them. Cold Blood was decided and replaced by the developer as a replacement item as a quick option. It is admittingly an underwhelming replacement by comparison, but unfortunately we cannot modify this replacement item now, and will relay the feedback to the developer to make the replacement item more impactful should similar situations arise. We can look into a rental system that expands from the already available options in the Medal Shop.
