Problem just started today every time I launch the game it’s starts up normal but when it’s get to loading screen it’s just black don’t see regular rf arrow regular mouse arrow I can hear the music running everything else just black
Just listing some solutions off the top of my head. not sure if you tried them already or not: are you using steam launcher or redfox launcher? have you tried restarting rf? restarting your pc? make sure to not press any key when rf loads (do not touch ur keyboard), and wait like 1min or so.
Using redox launcher and I already tried restarting my laptop on top of uninstalling and reinstalling the game still same problem
keep on trying to restart the game. for me i had this issue once and i had to restart 3 times for it to work. each time make sure to not press anything on ur keyboard and wait out the 30s-1min
Any resolution for this? Just coming back to rf and I can’t get out of the black screen. I’ve tried the regedit resolution to 9 (it worked once) but it always reverts back to 1 when the game launcher comes up.
Welcome back to the game!! A few questions to help diagnose the issue further: How many times have you tried restarting RF? personally when i encountered this issue, i had to restart multiple times and on the 4th restart, it worked for me when you see a black screen when loading in, how long did you wait before exiting the game? sometimes it takes a while before it loads to the next thing. i'd recommend maybe wait like 1-2 min before closing client to see if it still black screens after the full 1-2min. When the game is loading in, make sure to not press any keys on your keyboard Also do you have a video of you trying to load up rf and having the black screen? that would help as well
Ive restart multiple times now, I don’t usually wait too long (exit within 30 seconds) but the times it has loaded to the white screen has been instantaneous, literally within 10 seconds. I’ll try again waiting without pressing keys for 2 mins each. My question is what should my input in regedit be? In another forum I saw 9 (which appears to revert to 1 every time) but here it says 1. What is everyone using?
Are you on full screen or window mode btw? If youre on full screen, try window mode, its less glitchy. also I think 9 does default to 1, so i think thats expected.
I’ll give it a shot. Unfortunate because I was able to boot up the game yesterday and had a lot of fun. Hopefully this is resolved soon. Thanks for your help
I’ve tried 5?restarts now in windowed mode (waiting 2-3min each time) but still no cigar. Might need to wait for a permanent fix. Appreciate your help though
Maybe last ditch effort is try and reinstall from redfox site (not steam), not sure if you already tried that, maybe you did
Yes I’ve tried restarting and also reinstalling. I’m just going to reset my laptop (I just bought it yesterday so I’ve got nothing to lose lol)
Oh you should also try logging in with diff accounts, see if they all black screen. b/c if only 1 account black screens, there might be something wrong with that account
I actually tried this earlier and one account worked. But later today both of them stopped working lol this is such a weird issue but it’s typical RF
Update: I was able to get in after trying a while, but I logged off and tried again and the same error. Do I need to change my in game settings for a permanent fix?
I dont believe any game settings causes this. youre running in window mode i assume? Maybe you should record your screen trying to boot up RF multiple times and encountering black screen, then submit a ticket with the recording to gms
