Kinda weird they make one of the best, if not thee best type of mma-anime-fighting game that ever was blessed upon this world, not widely (or even lightly) promote it, and just vanish, sorta? I remember being a 13 year old playing Roblox and RF faithfully back in 2008, crazy how one turned into one of the most successful ventures to ever exist with over a billion accounts created while the other can’t even maintain a server to properly hold the small community they do have. I was just wondering, does Nimonix still exist..? How are the developer(s) doing? Are they ok?
IIRC the last major thing we heard from them was their Dev Google translate "interview" and them trying to launch rf in Japan and that was several years ago. We just gotta let them cook, we may be getting a trade system soon!!!!. 2024 is gonna be their year!
ive been on a binge to learn what the hell went so wrong with this game researching nimonix and all of the above... sad to see what the OGPlanet website turned into... miss those days
TBH it all started going wrong after OGP mismanaged the game then shoot the community in the back on the way out the door by very likely intentionally frauding our transfers before they even happened by giving us $500 in astros -before- locking in the transfers data which is also probably why the Top10 Box was even a thing - to correct that the prior incident which led to everyone transferring the same 10-20 skill items they might not have even owned before. Also OGPs events had hella toxicly unobtainable ceilings.
somebody should make a video essay on how one of the potentially greatest fighting MMORPG's of the decade failed so horribly... from what they did right, to what they did wrong, pointing out the corruption etc. i think that'd make a great watch/listen
Pay a youtuber $100-200 and itll be a thing. Problem is RF has zero traceable history, its all stories passed by old players, so its questionable how good of a video can even be made. Also a lot of older players have gigantic rose-tinted glasses when it comes to OGP even tho they objectively did the worst by the community.
"Team" is reaching. Probably down to the last person that believes in it trying to save it, that or someone who just can't find a good hobby.
All is valid. Just have to add that, Nimonix also messed up I think listening to the wrong community members. So many things people wanted that ended up being such a waste in man power. Plaza? Im half and half on this one. it COULD have worked if done properly. But nobody wants this in a game like RF. Theres no scenario where people should use it. Every plaza event felt like a chore or was just pushed by a admin being there. If you could roam plaza while queuing for a lobby, that could be different. In the end, Lobby with all chat was all we really needed. Boss mode? While it was somewhat enjoyable, It felt more like chores once again. I arguably rather farm maplestory creeps at the same level zone for hours. Gacha/Rares/Stats that are gated by $ in a game where its PvP based? Literatly no promo, no showcase of elevated skill, nothing to look up too, etc. RR was it. Games most competitive scene had to be made by players. Even when it was an official event, rules had to be in place once again verbally. Those steak modes, RF admission tickets, etc, all trash. You could literatly grief someones record by stalling them and winning with 1 punch. No sudden death, nothing.
