It’s been quite the brawl in Blacktop Melee for the months of March & April. The tournament may now be over, but I'm sure our fighters will continue to brawl it out with a "ft9" over there.

We invite you to participate in our feedback survey so that we can continue to do our best to build tournaments suited for players of all skill levels. Please congratulate your Blacktop Brawl Tournament Champion - Taurus.

All users who successfully complete the tournament survey will also be given an Orichalcon Coupon shortly after the survey closes. Afterwards, we will share our thoughts and your thoughts about the tournament in this thread so that we can review them together, as a community. Any duplicate or inappropriate survey forms will not be honored.

The survey will close on May 1st, 2022 at 11:59PM PDT.

Continuing tradition, you can find and watch past tournament matches in the archive. We'll update the archives so that you can re-watch the action in the Blacktop Brawl Tournament by May 15, 2022.

P: Should have enforced stricter rules, such as hit & run & lag.
S: It is true that we should have enforced rules regarding hit & run. However, instances where if a player is trying to utilize their ExoCore and were being chased should not be counted as "hit & run". However, we'll be adding a rule to combat those that are just hiding at a corner of the map. For lag, it's being enforced on the moderator's screen screen & what they see and may vary in stream

P: Moderators need to be more "confident" in their own rules. There was an instance where a moderator did not realize a player was using a banned skill item until it was pointed out by one of the players.
S: Moderators will be given more time to review the rules so that everyone is on the same page.

P: The sign up process and invitation links to Discord felt rushed.
    S:
We'll be increasing the duration for sign up and invite links for Discord for future tournaments.

P: In the tournament, there was some account sharing & some participants with multiple accounts. Why weren't they disqualified and was allowed to partake in the tournament?
    S:
It was thought to have the player that was caught account sharing or utilizing multiple accounts to progress in the tournament to avoid "gaps" for groups since there were a good amount of no-shows to the tournament already. In future tournaments though, we'll be disqualifying these players on the spot.

P: In the later stages of the tournament, double teaming & visible point farming was seen by some participants. This should be revisited as it is unfair for other participants.
S: For double teaming, we did not have a rule set for this type of tournament as it was natural that some players may team up anyway in their respective groups. However, we'll be enforcing double teaming rules for future tournaments. Players that are seen trading blows for points will be warned or disqualified.

P: Moderators should talk with one another in regards of a problem privately, since other participants may take the opportunity to sabotage or attempt to modify the results.
S: We'll be anonymously discussing about issues and then will share with the participants once a judgment call has been made.

P: Why were there no events during the tournament? (such as Fisticuffs & Workout Wednesday)
    S:
Based on moderator availability, we can consider continuing events such as Fisticuffs & Workout Wednesday as planned. However, item distribution may be delayed if we do resume these events. To help compensate for the missed Fisticuffs, we did have a triple reward (for the first time) & double reward when Fisticuffs resumed.

P: For the first throwdown event during the tournament, it felt messy and unfair for those that did not have knowledge about the game (passwords were based on questions about the game).
S: We acknowledged that some new players wouldn't know the answers to some questions that only older players would know, therefore we changed our questions to stuff that can be found in info of Sacred Scrolls & ExoCores.
