If nimonix were to put a lil bit of thinking and invest some time into a proper matchmaking system that matches EU's with EU's, NA's with NA's - since we don't have EU and NA separately, and set a ping-cap unlike the last matchmaking 'tournament', it would turn the game into a high level mindset game, would make an amazing competitive system that people will want to participate in, and perhaps would teach the low skilled players how to play properly eventually. Heres how it works:There will be a 'matchmaking' channel that is opened 24/7 so both EU's and NA's will be able to play at all times. There will be a ranking ladder that is similar to GW's ladder. The ladder will include the player names, their current rank, W/L score, and LP. Map will be a modified Rumble Dojo. (Cannot suicide-exploit/run.). * Modified = greenzone only * There will be a scoreboard on the top of the screen. First to get 9/6/3 wins (developers choice) will win the match and get <x> LP. praise for my drawing skills Rules: Player will get to choose his class from his 'myinfo'. (Picking phase) the class goes by DEFAULT stats. means player cannot add ANY items to his set. Player will get to choose his scroll from his 'myinfo'. (Picking phase) Exocores are NOT allowed. Items are NOT allowed. Sage Master is banned by default. Prizes:Top 3 players on scoreboard will get a random box developers choose every <z> time. *LP resets upon prize distribution.* *Essential in order to keep the competition between the players.* Notes: LP stands for 1v1 matchmaking LP. has nothing to do with GW's LP. Matchmaking matches an opponent with similar LP. Quitting causes the quiting player to recieve a loss, opponent wins by default. Open 24/7. Matchmaking matches EU with EU, NA with NA. W/L record does NOT reset upon prize distribution. Chats off during fight (?). Concede option. Ideas: Banning phase. Each player gets to ban <c> scrolls. Comes before picking phase. Ranking tiers. <q> to <w> LP is amateur. <w> to <e> LP is proffesional and so on. Announcers. There will be announcer packs available on shop.activates when the player who has the announcer scores <a> wins in a row.. etc. (INSPIRED BY HoN!!)* Spoiler Note: This thread is subject to change.
I like the idea, but i think there should be another cateogry for LP instead of tying it to the guild war LP IE: Matchmaking LP or 1v1 LP
I support this, as it would give people a way to "objectively" find out who is the best of the best, no duqing, no excuses - in theory. There are potentially problematic details: - How to deal with the scroll selection? Should there be a banlist? How will people decide which scrolls are allowed? And who shall do that? - How will the LP system exactly function? Are gained LP valid forever or do they also expire after a certain time of not playing? This is a potential problem if LP would never expire (compare it to the ranking points in Yu-Gi-Oh DevPro, which get resetted after every format switch), the top list could be faulty and not up-to-date. -
1) Theres no banning phase. Sage is banned. can't realy think of other 'op' scrolls tbh. 2) edited, thanks.
Anyone who can DDoS* On a serious note, this type of thing attracts all of the people who DDoS. This is a good idea, but I just won't be voting. It's a yes and a no from me primarily because of the DDoS issues we'd be having. This is pretty much another Sudden Death but slightly less exploiting.
yh well, you can't avoid ddosing problems no matter what you do. if the player who fights u is a known ddoser recording while getting ddosed and sending a ticket might get the ddoser banned. I'll just leave the fact that there are 0 ddosers in EU. NA's r savages.
Might as well throw in skins because this looks like smite's system. However I like smite and I like you so support!
