Anything possible. Basic research would show you its near impossible they store ip in server you can't just grab it.
Basically, any layer of abstraction that allows the matchmaking server to prevent player IPs from being shown to other players in the room or spoofs them would fix DDOS attacks.
There is probably an architectural change that can be made that does this without needing to rewrite the entire game's netcode. I am not sure exactly what that would be short of a client server model though. masking peer to peer sessions is a bit harder.
Dead by Daylight. As far as I know, that game follows Peer to Peer architecture, but there is some method of obfuscation attached to connected sessions.
