yeah with Kawhi Leonard being out and LaMarcus not performing. The spurs are slow af and GSW barely one. Many times they almost wasted the shot clock.
This is a demoralizing loss. I really see the possibility that the Warriors win this in 4/5 because of that. We are still talking about the Spurs though, so don't write them off. Moreover, GSW was not convincing at all and the Spurs played some great D at the start of the game. And Leonard is insane. What speaks for the Spurs is that their gameplan looked on point, Pop and the team looked ready for GSW. The defense was pretty good as well and when Leonard was healthy, the Spurs always seemed to have a way to score - which changed drastically when Leonard went out. Also, the fact that they generated a lead as high as 25 is a good sign as well (compare to the first game of the Blazers vs GSW where McLillard delivered too well, GSW started shooting badly as well like in this game and the Blazers still didn't manage to generate a lead). However, the "good" news end here. Leonard got injured. The Warriors got much more upside than the Spurs - the rule of averages applies almost always because of the length of an NBA series. Green and especially Thompson can and will do more on offense and then we also have guys like Livingston and especially Igoudala being able to contribute alot more as well. Leonard delivered and even though Aldridge had rough showing, he still had 28 points - you won't get much more from him. Ginobili performed way too well to sustain that - even though he is an amazing player (I say that as a huge fan). There is Gasol - but how much more will he give you when you got an Aldridge demanding "his" looks? Still, Gasol is a class player and he started the game well before he got into foul trouble... Good luck when their three pointer starts falling right away as well... The Spurs really need Leonard. Without him, this is over quickly - Aldridge is not alpha enough (as he showed with the Blazers).
you can never count out a pop coached team but there is literally no excuse for blowing a 25 pt lead lmao
Injured KD but can't guard Kelly lmao. Lets IT drop 29 on his head smh. They don't have anyone to guard James properly.
