I think the main reason servers were down is because they were not up, but i might be wrong. As the staff member stated, they dont know because they have to look into it.
The reason I asked was because of the in-game announcement that came before we were kicked out unceremoniously with no advance notice. This was how I was pretty sure it wasn't a DDoS attack.
Servers are now available. This was a network issue that has impacted other games as well, in which our network team is now investigating. Again we apologize for the interruption and thank you for your patience.

Oh? I have been monitoring the other game forums that RF hosts as well from the minute 9D servers were shut down 9 hours ago. And the only mention of server issues were from the Rumble Fighter forums, of which it would seem they were having a scheduled maintenance. I don't recall ever encountering a server shutdown announcement from any previous network issues that afflicted us before. Is this something we can look forward to in the future?
Alright, our network team has finished their investigation. Apparently, there was a network maintenance this morning, which took down all of our maps. In addition to this, there was also a miscommunication between the server hosts and our network team, therefore we did not receive an alert to restart the maps. Once again, we apologize for the interruption and will be working to keep this issue from occurring in the future. Additionally, we will be having a compensation exp event this weekend!

I just want to point out that "maps" weren't down. The 9D game "servers" were shutdown as evident by the screenshot of the in-game announcement I provided. This indicates either an automatic shutdown script was involved, or someone manually shut down the servers. Neither of which is comforting after more than a 9 hours wait. 9Hours Awaken?
The servers Tao and Yin were active, but the maps were all shut down. The message you received is auto-generated when a map is closing/shutting down. As Arts stated, there was a miscommunication with our team and the host team.
