They dont ban gambling. but they don't allow any game that is rated under 18 years old. Basically Rumble Fighter is illegal now.
looooooooooooool man go to war with goggle and bookface indeed faktz. he lose 100% that article is joke indeed faktz.
Well, they have to get the bill passed first, but if that happens, all MMORPG's and other such games with microtransactions and such are going to have to redesign their shops since most of them have some form of "Loot box," be it an actual box like RF or a Gachapon Machine like in Maplestory and GetAmped2. Maybe now Nimonix will focus on adding items to the shop again instead of relying solely on boxes. [ (X) - Doubt. ] TL;DR - EA's lootboxes in Starwars Battlefront 2 were so bad, it got the US government involved 2 years later.
"UPDATE (12:18pm): The Entertainment Software Association, the video game industry lobbyist group, sent over a statement shortly after this bill was introduced: “Numerous countries, including Ireland, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom, determined that loot boxes do not constitute gambling. We look forward to sharing with the senator the tools and information the industry already provides that keeps the control of in-game spending in parents’ hands. Parents already have the ability to limit or prohibit in-game purchases with easy to use parental controls.” Helps to read the full article. Loot boxes arent going anywhere.
once they pass da bill its all over for all shet game that has trash low rate like rumble fighter are illegal gg. EA's is the hero for create da bill. Nope. they will be in shet soon. Because gambling = casino which is required you to be least 18 years old to play gambling ass. once they pass bill rumble fighter is for Everyone rated then it's illegal unless nimonix had to make Rumble Fighter into M rated.
Honestly, with how much RF "Borrows" from other games and franchises, you'd think RF woulda been illegal ages ago.
Of course the gaming industry is going to lobby against this, no one is surprised. This isn't the first time a bill like this has been proposed but the fact remains if this doesn't succeed it will be brought up again and again until something is done. They can't fight it forever and greed isn't a sustainable business model. GG acting like you hate this game while also sucking so tenderly on it's nutsack tho, it's borderline impressive at this point
Lets look into gambling first shall we? Gambling is playing a game of chances with real money for a reward. Loot boxes themselves are a chance, specially in games like RF where they are heavily packed with timed items, meaning you are not actually even getting a real reward, but a "temporary reward" and 99.99% of the time is most likely clothes with a very low drop of like 0.01% at a skill item. This is what we called a "Gamble" : Taking a risky action for the hope of a good or better reward. Now Loot boxes. Loot Boxes are usually created to work based of a RNG meaning whenever you buy one you are taking a chance (Gamble) to get the item you want. Is this not how gambling works when you go to a casino? You pay your round or Hand and hope against all odds that you win the round or hand. And to be honest, if you were the Entertainment Software Association wouldnt you try to stop the bill by pulling information that doesnt even cocern the U.S.? Also, since he want to use references, I also have some references. Edit: I was wondering why RF Failed in Japan. Also, this law is for games under the age restriction of 18, because is illegal for kids to gamble.
