When there is nothing really new in this game since a while, these negative beefs happen so that the forums at least got a little bit of action. Humans love to see something happening and it won't matter if it is positive or negative at some point - just look at the deadly fights in the Roman Coliseums where people were ecstatic to watch someone fight for survival. Or take a terrorist attack. Instead of running away after witnessing an explosion or something similar, people tend to build groups surrounding the situation being actually amazed despite of the fear. Also, you might know the situation when you first meet a person somewhere and you are all good at first, but then it starts to get worse, because you get to know the person better. Because of the small community, this is the case here more often as well. A certain distance to people and closer contact to only a select few provides a better community experience. But the latter can't really be separated from the former, as the community just is that small that you happen to see the same people all the time. Moreover, this is a fighting game after all. And because of that, people will also tend to solve disputes through fighting and not a more tiring "argumentative approach". Stuff like pride and image tends to get important, insulting becomes a common tool to ensure dominance etc.
tbh a bigger concern is the amount of e-thugs in game. this guy sladexzx can pull up in a moon room trying to chump everyone off with berzerker lol...
