    Item Overview

    Guide made by iMetal.

Item Categories: There are thirteen categories of items, divided by usage. Weapons, Wardrobe, Accessories and Ornaments are classified as Equipment. Food, Tomes, Manuals, Elixirs and Clan Consumables are Consumable Items. The Conqueror’s Chests and Keys, Life Tools and Resources are used either in special situations or through a separate interface. Lastly, Quest Items are special Items only available during Quests and used to check quest progression.

All Items in 9Dragons can receive various properties, such as ability to transfer through storage, to discard, to trade, or to simply give to another player. Some Items may also break, become damaged, be repaired, be modified or be refined.

Weapons: Every character can use every kind of weapon, regardless of clan affiliation, but most Kung Fu requires certain types of weapons. If you use a weapon which exceeds your achievement level, you are penalized with reduced combat stats and your weapon’s durability will degrade rapidly. Weapons are divided into short/long weapons (physical attack weapons) and bracers (Chi Kung attack weapons) depending on the type of damage they inflict. You may obtain weapons through purchase from a shop, hunting omonsters and completion of quests. Precious and Rare weapons are only available as monster drops, and Masterpieces and Artifacts are only available as quest rewards.

There are many different types of weapons to be found in The Land. One can use any weapon that one finds but without mastery over that type of weapon, it shall provide little attack power.

There are many prerequisites to handling a weapon (level, dexterity, strength, training and mastery). If you do not meet the correct conditions then the durability of the weapon is drastically reduced and you will be unable to utilize it's full potential.

There are rankings for weapons that are dependant on craftsmanship, design and construction material. For example: Short Staffs are normally weaker than Bamboo Staffs, but Superior Short Staffs are stronger than Bamboo Staffs.

You can attach ornaments (grips, embroidery and tassels) to certain special weapons. These will improve the capabilities of the weapon. All weapons have a Durability Score and if this score is reduced to zero then the weapon is destroyed.

Weapon Refinement:Many weapons can be refined to increase their power. The Master Refiner has her smithy set up in the village of Hefei, and she requires both gold and Dragon Blood to work her magic. A few types of Dragon Blood can be obtained from nearby shops, but most can only be obtained by exchanging Blood Essence for them. Blood Essence can generally be earned by fighting monsters. Please be aware that there is a chance for a weapon to be destroyed when she attempts to refine it, and she makes no guarantees. The higher the level of attempted refinement, the greater the risk of breaking it. Reward follows risk, grasshopper. Know also that there are weapons in The Land of such high grade that no Refiner would dare to attempt to alter them, for fear of destroying a Relic could irrevocably ruin their reputation.

Weapon Slots:There is a complet system that allow you to add slot to a weapon. It is very useful to be able to put some item inside and get boosted stat.

Weapon Trad:This system allow you to add stat to you weapon, there is many kind of stat, there is also other system that will allow you to change the stat or add new one.

Wardrobe: There is clothing that is available for everyone and there is also clan-exclusive clothing, often divided by character gender. Although you can wear any clothes, unless restricted by your clan or gender, the durability depletes rapidly (as with weapons) if you do not meet the wardrobe’s prerequisites (such as achievement level). You may obtain clothes through purchase from a shop or from quests; decorative clothing is sold in a special shop. You can place certain Accessories in pockets that are attached to either Jackets or Pants to utilize their special enhancements.

Clothing: Clothes are primarily composed of shirts, pants, jackets wristbands, head ornaments, and shoes. Bags are not actual clothing, but there are bags that are made to be part of a matching set with certain clothes.

Any clothing item (shirts, jackets, pants or skirts) can have a maximum of four pockets. You can place accessories with various functions into these pockets. The total amount of pockets a character may utilize within their combined clothing is currently 8.

Wristbands raise your Attack Rating, and head ornaments raise your Dodge Rating.

You can attach ornaments (embroidery, insignias and talismans) to special articles of clothing. These will improve the abilities of the clothes. All clothes have a Durability Score and if this score is reduced to zero then the clothes are destroyed.

    • Clothes Refinement: The process of clothes refinement will be the same than weapon refinement, it use Blood Essence changed into refinement material. Compare to weapon refinement the clothe refinement don't give more damage, it give different kind of stat to the clothes. It also make them glow blue.
    • Clothes Slots: Same than weapon you can add slot to the clothes, you will be able to put item in these slot. The item you can put are different than weapon one so it will give you another kind of stat.

Accessories: Accessories grant special abilities when worn, such as raising certain Attributes. Jackets and Pants have up to four pockets each, and a pocket can hold one accessory. The number of special abilities granted by accessories is typically lower than enhancements granted by other wardrobe items. Accessories can grant up to three enhancements. You can equip as many as eight of the same types of accessories, but you cannot equip two of the same types of accessories if they are Clan Relics. Accessories are available in shops, but many important ones can be earned through quests.

Pockets and Accessories: If you have put accessories in the pockets of your clothes, you need to remove the accessories first to take off your clothes. If your jacket or pants are destroyed, the accessories in the pockets move automatically to your inventory. If you do not have enough inventory space while your accessories are moving, those accessories will be saved in a Temporary Inventory; however, should you log out before securing proper storage, these items may be irretrievably lost.

Ornaments, Clasps and Sockets: Ornaments are items that can be bound to weapons and clothes of Normal grade. Weapons and clothes can randomly have any number of clasps or sockets, and you can bind an ornament with special abilities to each clasp or socket to customize your equipment. These ornaments can be removed or changed, but each type of ornament has its own special restrictions. You can obtain ornaments from shops or earn them through quests. Certain ornaments may also require special tools, which may also be purchased, to be used for binding them to certain items.

Consumables (potions, pills, herbs and food): These items are consumed after use, and typically offer you recovery benefits or temporarily boost certain Attributes. There are Curatives that treat internal and external wounds, Restoratives that instantly restore Life or Vital Energy, Foods which gradually recover Life or Vital Energy, Ambrosias that temporarily improve certain Attributes, and Antidotes that can protect a character from dangers such as the poison mist found in vile dungeons.

Treatments: You can treat both your internal and external wounds by consuming a treatment, such as a medicinal herb, or by visiting a doctor in a local town and paying him to Heal you.

To consume a treatment, right click on it or put it in your quickslot bar and press the correspoding key. Treatments will be destroyed when used. It may take time for your wounds to heal, and you may not be capable of consuming other treatments during that time.

You can buy treatments from any doctor.

Food: If you eat food then your recovery rate will accelerate.

One cannot eat while in Combat Mode.

To consume food, right click on it or put it in your quick-slot bar and press the corresponding key.

Tomes: These are books that allow you to learn a Kung Fu technique through mental osmosis, simply by reading them, up to a certain Cheng (Level). Tomes are often the only means to learn certain high level Kung Fu or Chi Kung techniques. They are often earned as monster drops.

Tomes are special books you can read that will miraculously give you instruction in Kung Fu. Tomes are not always shaped like books, some are scrolls and others are wrapped into bamboo poles.

The actual Kung Fu techniques of your clan can only be learned through your clan NPCs. However, should you find and be capable of reading one of these special Tomes, you may learn some interesting new moves.

Manuals: Allow you to level your Kung Fu and Chi Kung experience at an increased rate. They can be purchased from a Clan Trainer or earned as monster drops.

Elixirs: Consumables that can raise any one of a character’s Attribute permanently. Elixirs are clearly labeled 1 through 10 in regard to their level. You need to take an elixir which has a level that corresponds to your level of tolerance to get its full effect. Level 1 elixirs are available in each clan’s starting area, but others of higher grade must be sought out or be compounded by a competent alchemist.

Clan Supplements: There are many clan specific Kung Fu and Chi Kung techniques that require certain altered states to be in effect in order for a disciple to use them. Supplements, which are clan-specific, induce these altered states. Liquor, which induces a state of Drunkenness, is an example of a clan supplement for a disciple of The League of Beggars. Other Kung Fu techniques do not require consuming these supplements, but they may become more effective as well after you take one. Supplements are generally only available in shops.

Ambrosia's: Ambrosia’s are very rare and mysterious medicinal remedies. Taking an ambrosia will temporarily raise your stats to extreme levels. Ambrosia’s typically do not last for very long, so try to not be in a middle of a life or death battle when one runs out!

Resources: Miscellaneous items you get through hunting. Used for certain collection quests or as combining materials for making various other items.

Life Tools: Keys for boxes, Weapon Refinement Tools and other materials. Available only in shops.

Quest Items: Quest-related items that you get while carrying out a quest. Most of them cannot be sold, discarded, or traded.

Collecting Materials:| The raw materials that can be found in The Land are varied and plentiful.
It is well worth your while to collect certain raw materials as there are NPCs who will buy collections from you for tremendous amounts of gold, or they may exchange something even more valuable.
You can check the status of your material collections by pressing the (L) key.

Collecting Collectibles: You may also find some collectible items while you travel The Land. These items have a rich history and that makes them quite valuable. Wan Daye, is a famous NPC collector who resides in the Hefei Marketplace.
You can check the status of your collectables by pressing the (L) key.

Equipping Items: You can equip Weapons, Wardrobe and Accessories on your character. They can have various requirements like Achievement Level, Strength, Dexterity, Good Karma and Bad Karma. Sometimes you may ignore item requirements, and equip an item which exceeds your ability, but you may receive severe penalties upon your abilities and benefits will be slight.

Durability: Weapons and Wardrobe Items each have their own levels of durability (there is no durability for accessories). Wardrobe durability decreases when you are wearing it and get attacked by monsters, or when you use Kung Fu. Weapon durability decreases when you attack an opponent with that weapon or when you use Kung Fu. Once durability decreases below a certain score, you will receive a warning message urging you to repair the item. The more durability you have depleted, the more gold you will need to pay an NPC to repair it. If you equip an item with prerequisites above your current level, or required attributes, you are penalized with a rapid decrease of durability on that item. If you continue to use an item without repairing it, know that the item will be destroyed forever when its durability reaches 0. You may repair weapons at any blacksmith and mend wardrobe at any drapery.

Storing Items: You may carry your items with you within your Pockets, Bags or Backpack; however, once you have too many items, you may consider storing some of them within Storage you may purchase from the Courier’s Guild.

Bags: At the start of the game you will discover you are equipped with an empty bag. A bag is a place to carry items you come across or purchase in The Land. If you left click on an item in a bag you can drag and drop it. Right click on useable items in the bag to use or equip them.

If you are trading with an NPC then right clicking will cause you to sell the item. If you are trading with other players, right clicking will move the item to an open trading window.

You may expand your basic inventory space, which has 25 inventory slots, by purchasing up to two additional bags from a drapery. You may have up to 75 available inventory slots in this manner. Clicking on the icon at the top of the bag window will open the corresponding bag.

If you wish to move an item from one bag to another, then simply drag the item over the icon of the other bag. The bag will automatically open.

Temporary Bags: If you are carry items in the pockets of a garment and that garment suddenly wears out, those items will automatically transfer to your bag.

If this happens when your bag is full then a temporary bag is created for you. You cannot put items into this temporary bag, and once you remove items from it they cannot be put back.

If you quit the game in possession of a temporary bag then you will lose all the items contained therein.

Storage: You can leave some of your items (up to 125 slots) and gold in Storage. You need to pay a certain amount of gold in advance to lease storage from the Courier’s Guild. Different characters in the same player’s account can share this storage, so it can be used to transfer items and gold between your characters. Know that you will need to empty out the storage if you wish to end your lease. You may select multiple items at once from within your bag to deposit into the storage, but you may not retrieve multiple items at once from within the storage. You may lease storage at any Couriers’ Guild Office where storage is available.

    Items - Item Grades

The Land is filled with many different types of items, some valuable, others priceless, many worthless. All of them (except quest items) can be put in or taken out of an inventory bag or storage facility by dragging them with the mouse.

Right clicking on clothes and weapons will equip them. Right clicking on consumables, such as food or elixirs, will immediately consume them.

All Clothing and Weapons have a Durability Score. If this score falls to zero then the item is destroyed. To prevent this from happening you should repair your items regularly.

Items are ranked by their scarcity and function.
    1. Normal Items: These are readily available for purchase from normal Merchants or dropped by disciples of Deviant Clans.

    2. Precious Items: These items are superior to normal items. If you are lucky you may find one. They can also be bought from the black market. Black Market Merchants typically hide their whereabouts and cannot be spotted through the mini-map.

    3. Precious Items of The Land: These are even rarer than precious items, and are karmically connected to The Land's well-being.

    4. Artifacts: These are exceptionally rare. You would be very lucky if you found one of these items and it could bring a great price if one were to sell it.

    5. Masterpiece: These are items made by master craftsmen and may demonstrate unique capabilities.

    6. Set Items: These are items that belong together. Individually they are not very useful, but if combined they can become quite powerful. Set Items may be weapons, clothes or accessories.

    7. The Jade Tablet of Nine Dragons: Legends tell of the Duel Of Nine Dragons, a mighty battle between the champions of each major clan that effectively ended The War of Nine Dragons. Although the Dragons themselves have long since disappeared, there are whispers that 9 lost pieces of jade, each part of a greater whole, have been scattered across The Land. It is further said that each piece bears the mark of one of the lost nine clan Dragons, and that each one has been magically imbued with untold power.

    Items - Durability and Repair

All items such as Clothes and Weapon have a Durability Score. When items are used, they suffer wear and tear. If you are unskilled with an item it wears out much more quickly. If you enter a coma or dying state your items will wear out even faster.

On the following screen you can find where is located the item durability in the blue square :

Items like weapons and clothing can be repaired in most towns by a Blacksmith or Seamstress.

The rough Durability Score of an item is shown by clicking on it. An exact Durability Score can be seen only during purchase or repair.
When you talk to a blacksmith or Seamstress, the following window appear:

You then have to click on repair button, new window appear:

You can then move item in the system. I suggest you to click on repair all since it will be also move the item that are on you char in the repair tool.

Then you have to confirm if you have enough gold the repair will start :

Once it's done a message appear and all item move back to their original place.

Items - Selling and Buying Items

Merchants will buy almost any item you can find. You can sell an item to a merchant by right clicking the item or by dragging it with the mouse.

Items that you cannot use (due to level, gender or incorrect clan) will be displayed in the merchant window in red. You can still purchase them if you wish but you will not be able to use them.

Some items that you cannot yet use (due to incorrect level or attributes) will have additional information displayed on them.

Remember to check the Clan Contribution Point value on any items you intend to sell to a merchant. You may prefer to donate an item with high Clan Contribution Points to your clan.
