Hey guys. I'm on Windows 10 here, but the ND launcher won't start. I tried compatibility mode for Windows 7, no luck. Any hints? Later edit: As SasheCZ suggested, setting compatibility mode for WinXP solves the problem.
Would this help? http://forums.playredfox.com/index.php?threads/alternative-client-download-link.419/
You're not making enough sense. I cannot understand you. When you run the launcher, do you even see the window come up or does nothing show?
No, it doesn't open, but when I'm trying to launch it from its folder(skipping shortcut), I can see some temporary files created and then deleted. I think 'ndreg.xrg' is one of them and survived. If you tell me how to debug it or how to provide some logs for you, I'm eager to help, I'm also a programmer and I know how hard to track are this kind of bugs.
Most likely something is blocking the connection which is why it won't even open. You need to make sure your anti virus is allowing ninedragons and your firewall allows it.
Any suggestions on how we could trace it and fix the problem? I don't have firewalls/antivirus except the defaults from Windows and they are not giving any notifications so we can probably take them out of the equation.
"Thanks" for your help... Do you have a clue how to fix this? I'm pretty sure the launcher is bugged. I installed the game, the laucher didn't start. I rebooted the comp and launcher started, game started and everything worked fine. I turned off my comp and I wanted to play the next day and the launcher won't start again. Can the game be played only once per installation, or what?
What firewall are you using? If its windows FW here is a guide by FakeHermit http://forums.playredfox.com/index.php?threads/game-guard-errors.420/ If not windows FW you need to google how to create a exception for the FW you have.
Thanks for replying... Tried that, the launcher nor the game starts... I'm pretty sure it's not connectivity based... There might be two problems, I guess: Either it's something in win10 that block's the game from starting, or there's a critical bug in the game/launcher...
