Here's three methods without using game credits. ▲▼▲▼▲▼▲▼▲▼▲▼▲▼▲ Wandering Soul - Lv 0 pet Step 1: Buy from players who has one with gold. ▲▼▲▼▲▼▲▼▲▼▲▼▲▼▲ Assorted pet types - Lv 1 pet Step 1: Buy from players who has one with gold. ▲▼▲▼▲▼▲▼▲▼▲▼▲▼▲ Awaken Lv 0 pet to Lv 1 pet. Step 1: Buy a Wandering soul from players who has one with gold. Step 2: Buy 10 soul stones from players who has them with gold. Step 3: Awaken your Wandering Soul with 10 soul stones to a random Lv 1 pet.

There currently isn't any method of obtaining a Wandering Soul or pets of any level from the game itself thru farming. If you are unable or reluctant to purchase game credits to obtain a pet from the item mall, you will have to purchase them from players who have them for sale with gold. There is a chance that a future game event might introduce a way for players to obtain a pet of varying levels without spending $ on item mall, but the player base to my knowledge has not been informed of any such plans.
